RUNWAY
Snawl's
Season 8

Elliss Solomon
Elliss Solomon is a British designer who makes clothing not for the runway, but for her online store. The driving motto behind all of Solomon's products is sustainability. Using only organic, recycled, and repurposed fabrics, Solomon's goal as a designer is to create comfortable, body-positive clothing that does not harm the Earth. Solomon's entire repertoire is almost exclusively tight-fitted clothing; you will not see jackets, baggy clothing, or fluffy gowns with trains on her website. She does do accessories however, and you'll notice she also designs & sells her own handbags and bathing suits too. One thing I noticed is that she does not shy away from pairing practical footwear with her fashion - her models are frequently photographed wearing running shoes with her clothing.

Elliss Solomon's fashion is not afraid of using colour, however it is almost always tame, restricted, and muted. Neon hues are basically non-existent, and an outfit's entire palette is sometimes nonsensical (IE not analogous). As you can clearly see, Solomon is a big fan of collaging. Her outfits feature unique, often confusing prints and graphics she lifts from vintage magazines.

Should I pick Elliss Solomon?
You should pick Elliss Solomon if you are looking to design something compact but innovative. She plays with expectations of outfit silhouettes (sleeves, pantlegs, etc) and can thusly get away with shapes most designers can't. Solomon is an obscure figure, and thusly her fashion isn't easily accessed on Google. Click here to be taken to her website, where you can gage her style more efficiently.
