Week 10 - Panel
Well, we're here at the final 6. To clear up confusion and to disclaim certain erroneous rumours; Vicky & Valentina were disqualified because they didn't hand in their photoshoots on time. There was no fighting or anything along the lines of that. They didn't respect the rules of the game, and as a result, they faced the punishment.
Last week (week 9), we saw a massive decline in the quality of the outfits produced. I felt like everyone took a step back. However, ever since stepping into St. Perersburg, I feel as if you guys have regained the level of professionalism because most of the outfits this week were actually quite splendid. I am glad that I can settle down and spend time with 6 talented desginers who have a lot to show, and who actually appreciate this game. Sadly, someone still has to go home as per usual. It's getting tougher and tougher with these eliminations but we gotta finish this game at some point!
Alas, it's time to see who brought their fashion aptitudes overseas, and who is getting deported back to America, Canada or whichever mudhut you hail from.
Kayllah

Outfit: This is, without a shred of doubt, your best performance yet. The fact that it took 10 weeks to get it out of you is fucking pitiable, but I'll take it! The outfit features flashy colours that are undisclosed to this task, yet you managed to stay on board with the task and not overdo it. The slightest of change in the blue's hue from the top looking slightly darker than the bottom is so amazing. It adds a lot of depth of field to the outfit. You didn't lose the frumpy aspect either. The hat works perfectly, the yellow necklace is a bit obnoxious but I'll let it slide because for once in this competition, Kayllah is ahead of the pack!
Photo: As we all know, you only had two frames this week. The picture above was your first frame. The second you came on yet, you had a certain spunk that I haven't seen from you at all. The pose of you gently peering off to the side on one foot is graceful and swift. Not only is it your best pose, but it is easily top 3 best poses of this entire cycle. This photo is all-around perfection and the background is beautiful.
Bri

Outfit: This is really weak, Bri. I am not a big fan. The outfit is decent, I can see it MAYBE getting top 3 in one of my short terms depending on who is playing. But is it up to par for this game? Hell no. The bottom half of the outfit is fine- I actually like it. But the top half is clashy and totally abandons any representation of Russian historics you were going for. It looks modern, not dated. Usually that's a good thing, but not when the task specifically asks you to look dated. The green against the lavendar coat is not flattering at all. And even if the colours WERE in harmony and the fabrics weren't mismatching, I still don't see that extra kick or umph that takes this beyond the standard PR player and into the realm of an allstar. Quite frankly: your weakest performance yet.
Photo: The pose is great, I love how it looks like you're frolicking down the stairs. It was well-timed and beautifully done. However, you picked a difficult place to model because we had some technical difficulties. I felt as if you didn't completely utilize your angles which is weird because you're usually one of the bests for modelling. Even the choice of posing in this room wasn't wise because there's nothing going on in this photograph that in unique or represents the beauty of the Ivory Hall Manor.
Jade

Outfit: Once again you completely knocked this task out of the park. You have really great attention-to-detail because when you read my tasks, you actually apply EVERYTHING I ask for. Never once have you broken the rules or didn't include an aspect the task asks for. All... while looking high-fashion and original. The accessories on the head are questionable, but everything else is flawless. Most people hate those "ballet slippers" but I don't mind them, and I actually think they work very well for this task. I appreciate that you utilized them instead of just slapping on heels. The tones of red up top are spectacular to look at, and the orange dress is a lovely transition. All of the clothes totally look outdated but not grimy. Once again you're schooling this game. Keep it up!
Photo: The photo is pretty cool but it doesn't totally look like a fashion shot. One thing I've noticed about your modelling is that you're really inconsistent. One week you'll do great, then the next you'll be lost on set and I'll struggle with picking your best photo. This week falls under the latter. Your outfit this week is so stunning and so photogenic; it's really a shame it isn't being showcased the way it deserves to be. Nevertheless this is another strong performance from Jade.
Kara

Outfit: Not bad, but not fantastic either. There's no major flaw; everything seems to be in the right place. My biggest issue is (and I know this isn't the first time I'm telling you this) that there's nothing unique or creative that elevates it to a higher plateau than just a PR outfit. I like the colour palette despite it looking a little too holiday-centered, and the choice of clothing is nice but at the same time, hackneyed and trite. At this point you've really done nothing to amaze me lately.
Photo: Your modelling is decent, and this is a good photo. But you need to experiment with angles because I feel like whenever I photograph you, at least 50% of all your frames are of you giving the same angle: straight-on diagonal with the camera. It rarely works out for you, and just makes your whole avatar look flat.
Savon

Outfit: I think this outfit does an amazing job at capturing the darkness of the '40s Russia using old, frumpy, vintage clothing. You used LEATHER! It makes me think of the deadly Gustapo police marching through a Russian town and capturing people. This outfit is eerie, haunting, bad-ass, and incredibly high fashion. I LOVE the white heels because they add a reprieve for the eye after looking at all of the density at the top. The skeletal effect is being used to make it look like you're wearing golden gloves which almost give it a steampunk vibe. I am really enjoying this outfit and I am glad to see you stepping your creativity up, especially at the final 6 when it's either sink or swim.
Photo: The photo looks high-fashion and your modelling on set was really good. Despite it being a crowded room, you didn't let is phase you. You got close with some of the furniture which gave you perfect interactions. Your pose is virtually the same as Kara's so you both received the same photo score, but you were far more clean and consistent with your modelling.
