TASK #6

Wanna Finish Me Off?

Completing A Collection

For your 6th task, I am testing your ability to adapt to someone else's vision. I am making a 5-piece collection, but I only have four outfits. For this week's task, the fifth outfit will be designed by YOU!

Scroll below, look at my collection, read my inspiration, and design an outfit you feel would fit great among them as the fifth and final piece. It's pretty straight-forward. Make sure your outfit is cohesive enough to belong among my original four, but also, unique enough to stand out on its own. You don't want your outfit to be lost in the shuffle. You will be judged this week based on how well your outfit "completes" the collection. Good luck!

Taiga's Breath

?

A taiga is a geographical region found in Canada, Russia, and other northern countries. This region is characterized by mushy wetlands and coniferous trees, as well as a cold climate that shrouds the land in snow for 50 to 80 percent of the year. I used taiga regions and animal furs as my source of inspiration for this theme. Every outfit has some element of fur or animal hide. The outfits don't have to be built for practicality, as you can see, one outfit has bare arms and another has bare legs. As for the colour palette, I was inspired by dirt, mud, clay, twigs, rocks, ice, & snow.

That's pretty much it. Design a taiga inspired outfit that features fur or animal hide in some capacity, and whose colour palette references the one established by the first four outfits. You can add additional colours if you'd like, but make sure the original vision isn't lost.

Aaaand we're back from the holiday break! Happy 2026!
This competition will resume and hopefully conclude by late February.

The final nine did a great job at finishing my impromptu collection this week. My judges & I had a lot of fun (and a lot of disagreements) critiquing these nine outfits. At this point in the competition, luck plays a huge factor. Please don't get a big head and start assuming you're better than anybody else because you scored higher in any given week. You are all tremendously talented, as demonstrated time and time again.

Zoetic (Slur) will be finishing his tenure at Snawlterm Season 10's judging table this week. He has decided to reflect his critiques through the medium of GIFs.

If I was asked to guess who designed this outfit, I would say Filip... and that's a high compliment if I ever gave one. This looks so sculptural and gentle, so much motion and grace. I have no idea how you achieved the pillowy Avant Garde fur apparatus on the head and frankly I don't want to, because the otherworldly mystery it brings enhances my appreciation for the outfit. I love how the textures are so clean and subdued, too. You're letting the mere shape of the accessories do the heavy lifting. Then we have this icy sparkling wellspring of which your presentation seems to be literally spawning out of. The outfit itself is definitely far more literal than the original four in Taiga's Breath, but that unique separation is what helps give your submission the edge it needs to stand out from the pack. Overall, great work. Three great outfits in a row from you; if you keep it up, you'll be back in the finale.

So liberating, light, and gracious. The huge amount of skin being shown puts your canvas at risk of being barren, but every subsequent fabric choice is a carefully calculated decision that makes your outfit look compact, yet filled with detail. The tiny pastel blue particles on your crown and the tips of your hair are this almost ethereal Disney princess level camp that adds youth to the collection without sacrificing quality of cohesiveness. You probably could have afforded to use a more cozy, winter themed footwear for the sake of the original four outfits, but I definitely don't detest the small heels either, as they are a finalizing touch to your own glamorous theme. Would I change anything about this outfit? Not really, no. This is my favourite thing from you since Week 2.

This outfit's definitely grown on me. Its absurdity and at-odds fabric choices are a welcome change. I don't fully understand making your robe pitch black; I feel a claylike brown or icy grey would have served your palette better, and then you could have added black in the form of smaller accessories. Regardless, the crossroads of the left butterfly wing interjecting over the feather accessory is clever and oddly satisfying to stare at. The muddy brown leaking onto the shoes & socks is intriguing too. My biggest piece of criticism is that I wish this outfit featured more obvious usages of animal fur. I guess it's the black on the robe, but you could have picked a more obvious, more "furry" looking base to build off, seeing as animal fur was a criteria for this task. You didn't forget it entirely, but I wish it was a bit more present. Besides that, I think you did good. You're more creative than you give yourself credit for.

Three people used green this week, but only you ran with it. This outfit has a lot of recurring patterns and themes with the original four in Taiga's Breath, but what elevates it to the next echelon for me is how you used moss and greenery so thoroughly, almost like it was the next obvious step in the natural cycle. You didn't merely add to the collection, you brought it full circle and finished it off. You matched my freak perfectly while adding elements that make your outfit's inclusion totally necessary. The separate ombre hues of green fading in & out of the brown top is so breathtaking, especially the textured moss on the upper chest. The patch of clean white on the thighs is so impactful too. Like your Yamamoto outfit, this may not be the most groundbreakingly new silhouette of the week, but goddamn, is it well conceived and thoroughly assembled. You have a natural talent for textures, and combining items.

I can't wait to see more of it!

I didn't quite care for this outfit... that is - until I put it next to the rest of Taiga's Breath, and suddenly it all clicked. Your twisted genius that is this outfit became clear as crystal. Using the fifth and final slot to design something bombastic, long, and impractical is a common practice in fashion, and you seized the opportunity. The roots on the mushroom cape give the appearance of frozen strands of frost on glass type effect that I can't help but fall in love with. While I'll admit I'm sick of seeing this feather from the side, I can't deny that it plays brilliantly well into the cape as well. The only element of this outfit I dislike is the robotic hand, solely because it looks so thin compared to the rest of your Habbo's body. Had you used something a little less sci-fi and a little more in line with fur or nature, I think this outfit would be far more unstoppable. Otherwise, this is a solid submission.

Your artistic direction may be obvious, but this collection was screaming for a voluptuous gown, and I am glad you gave me that. I really appreciate the extra fluff and fabric on your upper body to make the design more original. The gown's fluffy trim on the bottom is a curious yet adorable addition to the collection that makes me think of sheep skin hide. The bright blue shoes are the only decision I dislike. I dislike the colour, the awkward shape, and how they get cut off. Also, the palette of this outfit, while undeniably loyal to the source of inspiration, definitely could have been pushed further. It doesn't need an explosion of foreign colours for sure, but some darker hues near the collar or on your chest would have given your fabrics a more rugged, indigenous frontiersman flavour of authenticity. This outfit was a great idea, I just wish its potential was more thoroughly realized.

Your use of the sideways pose is extremely technical. I love the loose white furs bursting from behind the brown jacket at a seemingly random and almost accidental effect. I also love the suppressive and over-wrapped nature of the head fabrics. The palette of the bottom half is simple but lovely, mainly because the colours are plotted in dense little shapes instead of a more commonly expected layering pattern. The green and black on the shoes is great, but I wish you conveyed it with a more serious shoe in lieu of socks & sandals. Lastly, while this outfit is pretty great overall, I think if it had a bit more of a weathered outdoorsman aspect to it, rather than casual city winter wear, that would have pushed you to the top of the pack this week. That critique aside, you did very good this week. It appears that Rae is back with a vengeance!

While I think you understood the task just fine, I am left wishing this final outfit was more refined. There are elements of brilliance, like the saturated hues of browns, the extra fabric, and the outward arms pose. There is a good foundation here. Sadly, your final product looks mangled, scraggily, and the sharp, dense clusters of extra texture from certain accessories looks uncontained. It makes your outfit look less cohesive with the rest of the collection, even though you're using almost exclusively the same colours. Then there's the bottom half of the outfit which I must say I just flat-out dislike. The running shoes, socks, and rolled up pant legs makes me think of a children's cartoon, if anything. I actually love it when sporty shoes end up on the runway, but this was possibly the worst task for it. The entire presentation narrowly misses the runway and almost feels more at home in a Cozzie Change. Solid ideas, but minimal harmony between the individuals items.

Sarah (sparkle)

This unexpected, ominous, almost horrorcore direction you took this week, I gotta be honest, I don't love it. Your submission struggles a lot when it is placed amongst the rest of the collection. The first four outfits in Taiga's Breath have this air of studied gentleness that I find to be completely absent from your outfit. The mermaid gown and fox tail - albeit beautiful - aren't an original combination. The head accessories confuse me, both in their sharp symmetry as well as the 2000s horror villain aesthetic; I can't stop thinking of the killers from Hostel (2005). For a positive, I do enjoy the more sporadic brown leather straps on your torso. I wish the essence of unpredictability from that was carried to all edges of your outfit. This outfit was clearly designed by a deft hand, and probably would achieve success in a different task entirely. Sadly, I feel it is completely detached from nature, which was the whole crux of this task.

Great work, everybody. Not only are these outfits amazing, but I am surprised at just how different they all look from each other. No two submissions look cut from the same cloth. Bravo!
My Top 3 for this week have to be
Becca (oyt), Elysse (LC22), & Arber (icearbr). As for the winner, I am declaring Elysse (LC22) Season 10's first winner of two tasks! Extremely well done to the three of you.

Week 6
Top 3

The Bottom

Because this week was so good, I'll only be doing a Bottom Two, and those two are. . . . .

Kyle

I feel like this is easily the least runway ready outfit of the bunch this week. Particularly the bottom half of this outfit is sabotaging the upper half.

Sarah

While this outfit does contain one or two interesting features, I feel the soul of Taiga's Breath didn't speak to your creative psyche much at all.

The Designer I Am Eliminating Is...

[Highlight the text to reveal]

Kyle (KSkins). This is really painful to say. I feel you've shown a tremendous amount of growth, and you seem to absorb feedback at an exceptional rate. You gave us some truly interesting and completely original outfits this season. Sadly, I feel that Sarah is just simply more likely to hold her ground against the other seven going forward, and that is what is leading me to eliminate you at 9th place. Thank you so, so, so much for agreeing to partake in Snawlterm, and for keeping me & my judges on our toes for the six tasks you partook in. I hope to see more of you, whether it be short-terms, long-terms, or Minis, because you've never once bored me or given me something I've seen before. Take care, my fellow Canadian.

Another very sad and difficult elimination. This competition is gettin' real, and each of you have a coveted spot in this game that can be taken away at any time without notice. Please keep designing like $75 depends on it.

Your seventh task is uploaded and ready to go.
