Congratulations, final six! You've reached this season's international destination: my stomping ground of southwest British Columbia! I hope your newly acquired black jackets have invigorated you with the determination you'll need, you're in the home stretch!
I can't think of anything more indicative of Western Canada than extreme winter sports. Sure, every snowy country has snow sports, but up here, we take them a little too seriously. Snow sports are an integral part of elementary school, and they don't care how out-of-shape or anti-sports you are, you're going up that mountain! If you refuse, you fail P.E. class. Same thing with ice skating.

Your next task is inspired by winter sport apparel. I want you to design a colourful, fun, but high-fashion outfit that incorporates some sort of extreme winter sport equipment from skiing or snowboarding. Examples of go-to items can include helmets, winter jackets, snow pants, mitts, ear muffs, snow goggles, balaclavas, winter boots, backpacks, mountain climbing apparel, and fluorescent safety colours like lime green, yellow, orange, and pink.
Obviously you don't need to use all of these ideas, but you should use enough so your inspiration of extreme snow sports is obvious. This is not merely a "design a winter outfit" task, I want high-fashion meets cold & life threatening. Your outfit does not need to be realistic; you can have bare arms or a dress, idc. This is fashion, not practicality.

Your due date for this task is Wednesday, April 10th at 8:00pm EST (1am GMT.)
Good luck, black jackets of Season 9!

Panel #9

I talk a lot of shit about Canada, and most of it is absolutely warranted. But at this time (at least for now) I'd say our positives are just barely balancing out our negatives, and so I'm still proud to be Canadian. Thank you all for partaking in my task that'll surely fill my already overly expanded ego with more hot air. I can't wait to float off into the sky.

For this task, I asked the six of you to design some high-fashion that incorporates snow sport apparel. My guest judges & I unanimously agree that this week in particular was extremely close. There isn't a whole lot of criticism separating this week's task winner from the player who is eliminated. The six of you delivered extremely well. I almost did a non-elimination, but I can't do that twice in the same season, so I swallowed the pill and decided on an elimination. Please forgive me, and to the five who survived: don't put too much weight into this week's ranking because one or two small differences could scramble it entirely.

Harri (.Uhu) is joining us at panel for one last time.

Snawl: I needed time to warm up to this outfit, but warm up I have, and I think it's one of the stronger outfits this week. There is a sporty essence to the stripes and graphics on the light blue coat as they sell this sort of swift, swooshing type aesthetic that has become commonplace with sporting apparel. I'm still not completely sold on the coat's shape, it still looks like you have a beer gut. I love what you did below with the dress + platform heels. They scream Vogue cover, your headpieces scream Sport Chek, and your torso is the battlefield wherein these two brands combine. The subtle dots on the dress are interesting too and they mimic a patch of fresh snow. This outfit is chic, and I can't say you didn't give me what I asked for. Nice work.

.Uhu: First thing that stands out here is this insanely genius construction, if any item was changed or different the whole design would be completely different. This shows a great eye for detail in manipulation of Habbo items! I cannot fault this at all. It's not the most bold colour-wise this week, but I don't think you needed to do that, you managed to stay more of a monotone route with small highlights of the orangey colour. You did what was essential for an extreme sportswear design, and then posed it in a way which screamed fashion. The staple to the design is the superb construction and the shapes merged into the design, and that stands out amongst an extremely talented cast, good job this week!

Snawl: The colours you used are bright, but also look slightly weathered and stale; worn in, it's like there's a 30% opacity filter over your outfit. I like it a lot! This is likely the palette I would have used if I were to do this task. I'm a huge lover of that coat and feel it should be used in PR more often. My favourite section of this outfit are the pantlegs and their stacked layers and subsequent colours. Despite this outfit having many elements I love, I find the overall presentation lacking just a tad compared to everyone else. I feel your outstanding colours are carrying an otherwise pretty predictable outfit, and when you ignore the colours and look specifically at the fabric choices, this looks a little more like a winter inspired outfit than a winter sport inspired outfit. It's a great submission, but it could have been a lot better I feel.

.Uhu: There's something that really intrigues me about this outfit.. mostly the layering on the bottom half. The belt creates this asymetric vibe showing off only the left of the bottom of that top, which creates a really nice illusion, I think that is my favourite thing on this outfit, below this you get the beautiful layering you have created, I absolutely am in love with the bottom half. Then look above, the top isn't too bad, but I think it could be paired with more fashion-forward head accessories, nothing wrong with them, but paired up against your competitors, having this be exemplified would have made you stand out against them.

Snawl: There are a lot of small yet significant technical choices that help make this outfit be such a stand-out. Your colours are of course amazing, but it's this seemingly reoccurring pattern of rectangles that are giving this outfit a cohesive feel. The handbag, the dress, the belt, the entire big blue winter coat itself, it's like an art project made of tiled shingles. There are smaller, more grounded details like the boot's pink fur or the white sleeve that help sell this outfit to more demographics. Then the blue hood - which I initially questioned - serves a vital purpose. I'm glad you used silver copiously on the bottom half because it's saving the outfit from being too colourful and showy. Another great outfit.

.Uhu: My oh my.. as soon as I saw this I instantly said that it was in my top 3 of favourite outfits this season. And this thought has stood strong, as does your design. It makes me even more satisfied as its extremely wearable and functional, whilst still staying strong in design. I think the colours in this outfit help the magic come alive, literally any other colour chosen would have most likely condemned you, so kudos to that! The exact right amounts of textures too, really well thought-out outfit. A super stylized aesthetic is extremely well-driven too. Very good job, i enjoyed it intensely.

Snawl: This outfit works in a strange way; I don't love it but I can't quite point my finger at any particular item or approach that feels like a misfire. The purple + green, for me, give off this very early '90s Memphis style VHS background. I'm waiting for an annoying clapping song to switch on before your Habbo swoops down a snow hill on a pair of skis to talk to the kids about sex ed. It's easily the most pedestrian outfit of the six this week - its saving grace from generality are your intertwined scarves. I love the idea of a white snowsuit but your manner of styling makes it look more like a neglected canvas to prop up the accessories, instead of being a complete outfit. It's pretty good, it's just not blowing me away.

.Uhu: This feels drama-ful, it feels expensive and luxurious. That pink is honestly so satisfying, it hits you in the face and I being hit by it. Then you pair it with this lovely green, such an epic combo. It was definitely a wise decision to put the white on the majority of the outfit, as it may have been overwhelming without it and just the colours. The shape and items of your outfit really help bring it into the fashion world, the off-the-sleeve jacket to the layering draped off of your body is super nice. I can see this being displayed on a high fashion/editorial magazine.. or even like a sports car/snowmobile advert lol. V well done, I am a true lover of the style which was presented in this design!

Snawl: I'm happy we got at least one impractically high-fashion submission this week. Not every outfit needed to be literal winterwear, so thank you for the diversity. Your accessories say winter, your palette says summer, it's a really enjoyable dichotomy. I love the heels. I love your use of the headscarf. I love the orange below the scarf which looks to be some sort of safety harness incorporated into the outfit. Sadly however, this outfit gets very boring very quickly once I look past the colours and head accessories. That large scarf was sort of "the obvious choice to avoid" this week because it is so overused - both in winter tasks and every task in general. I don't care to see it in a long-term setting unless it's being completely reinvented. Given your specific pose, the scarf is covering a lot of space that could have been used to  convey your idea in a more original, and inviting way. I can easily understand why you would think colouring the belt blue would look good, but it blends into the scarf and thus gives it more oppressive power over the rest of this outfit; if I didn't know better I would think you were trying to hide the outfit completely.

.Uhu: This feels the most runway-ready outfit this week. The pose is striking and so are the design choices. It looks as if you found a piece of sportswear and set out to produce an all-the-rage chic outfit. I get the vision of an original outfit being torn and shredded creating the frayed edges you have on the pieces of clothing. It's different from the others in the way of not being scared to change the excepted standard of an extreme sportswear outfit. I love the contrasting colours, this was a great decision to make to show off each seperate part and really hone in on the idea of extending the scarf into the belt. Does this outfit rely on the scarf too much? Maybe a tad, but I don't mind too much, its a fun outfit and did not bore me for one second. It's rare to see exciting outfits utilizing that item anymore, and you did! Thoroughly enjoyed this submission!

Snawl: Everyone did good this week, but this outfit really takes advantage of the energetic, sporty, youthful nature of the assignment. The idea of white light reflectors is some mad genius thinking, and I'm sure I would have recognized the effect without you telling me upon submitting. Snow mountains have a lot of personality on them; people imbue their extreme sports attire with colours, attachments, and other expressions of attitude to set them apart from the crowds (much like how skateboarders deck their boards with decal) and I feel there's an entire person and backstory behind this loud punch of an outfit. The head accessories are simple but effective, the violet snow pants taper the hot pink perfectly, and the shoes are adorable without being tacky. This was your task to ace, and you aced it!

.Uhu: You did not hold back on styling this week, this is a powerhouse in extremely saturated colouring and it works so well for what you have created. Similarly to another outfit this week I see it as something which has came from an existing outfit and you have upcycled it, tailoring it perfectly for a runway event hosted by a sports brand or something along those lines. I love how it's a dress, which hasn't been covered by an oversized coat of some sort. It keeps it feeling refreshed and makes me come back for more! The white lines you've created really help create the illusion that this was once used for actual sports, which ideally would be something we'd see on the actual show, someone ripping through excisting sports outfits and creating something like this. Super cool effect this week. Goob job!

Conclusion

Well done final six on your first black jacket task! Like I said above, singling anyone out on this week was particularly difficult. You all had unique visions for this task, and not a single one of you failed to convey said vision adequately.

The winner of this task is Elysse (LC22)! Congratulations on your 2nd win, your outfit was the only one of the week where I couldn't think of any minor changes to improve upon it. In a very close 2nd place, we pay applause to Filip (Lidl-Wayne), great work both of you.

Bottom Two

Chris (doglover) - You did a lot of things spectacularly well with this week's outfit. Sadly, your upper torso region just felt a bit barren and underused compared to everyone else this week.

Chan (Chan.) - Your outfit was very risky and in several ways the risks paid off. Sadly, I feel your submission is showing me the least, out of everyone. The scarf, pose, and small silhouette all add up against you.

The person ELIMINATED is . . . . .
(Highlight text to reveal)

Chan (Chan.) There are several features of your outfit that I like more than Chris', but ultimately I feel like Chris will have better chances against the other 4 competitors. It is because of that, that I must collect your black jacket. Before you depart, I want to congratulate you on everything you've done in this season. Casting you was a last-second decision; I already had a full cast of 14 picked out, and I didn't bother asking you because I was under the impression you were inactive. However I am super glad I made room for you at the end because here you are, in the final 6! You certainly didn't take the spot for granted. You submitted some truly spectacular outfits - your Week 3 outfit I think of quite a lot in particular. It definitely could have won if that week wasn't so competitive. So once again, thank you for all of your hard work, dedication, and positive attitude! We'll miss you at panel.

The eliminated contestant isn't the only person departing our panel this week, because Harri (.Uhu)'s time as guest judge is up! Thank you very much Harri for taking time out of your schedule to help judge three tasks with me. For those of you who'd wish to see more of Harri's judging, you can check it out at Lidlterm Season 4 where he was a permanent judge, as well as various weeks of FreshFaces Season 2 where he was a guest judge.

For the final five, your next task is
